Mixed TGIF is a monthly event that usually takes place at the Annex Building A-4. It is open to all members and their spouses. In the case of a service couple, the spouses will be allowed to attend, in uniform, at Annex A-4.

A free coffee break is held Monday – Friday from 0900 – 1030. Coffee, tea and toast are available each day, with muffins on Wednesday. Free soup is served at lunchtime on Thursdays and Fridays in the main bar area. Sandwiches are also served on the last Friday of the month. The Entertainment Committee holds numerous events throughout the year. Members will be advised of Mess entertainment activities by means of e-mail, notice board at the Mess, posters, Post Gazette, Entertainment Calendar, Base web page. Tickets are sold at the office during regular business hours and can be purchased with acquittance roll, cash or Interac. Members are entitled to invite 5 guests to mess functions.

Our Sports Committee organizes several events and sports tournaments throughout the year. Annually, we offer golf passes, host golf tournaments and curling funspiels. Information is distributed via e-mail with registration being taken at the mess office. We welcome suggestions that may offer more variety to our members.

On posting, members will receive a gift not to exceed $35 in value. On retirement, members will receive a gift not to exceed $150.00 in value.

There are Dress Regulations in effect in the Mess. These are posted in Building A-9 next to the Dining Room entrance and are contained in the Mess Constitution and By-Laws.
A copy of our Constitution & By-Laws are available at the bar in Building A-9 if members wish to view them. Electronic copies of the Constitution: click here. (Microsoft WORD version)

Members are also entitled to Sympathy Tokens to a maximum value of $60.00. The Sympathy Token can be used for a deceased member of the mess and in the event of a death in the member’s immediate family.

The Mess operates a Bar Chit system within the Mess with certain guidelines. You can contact the Mess office for additional information.

A Proposal book is available at the bar to members wishing to record proposals. Valid proposals shall be included in the agenda of a General Mess Meeting providing they are recorded in the proposal Book at least 10 days in advance of the date of the meeting.

We also have an Annex, located in Building A-4. The main dining room in Building A-4 seats approximately 175 making it an ideal location for wedding receptions, reunions, unit functions, etc. It also has a fireplace, access to the bar and available space for a DJ. A large multi-level deck is located off the dining room. Arrangements can be made for the use of two large gas BBQs in season. There are also two smaller lounge areas located in the annex A-4. A member or unit may be granted the privilege of reserving A-4 or a portion of A-9 for a private function. Civilians or a civilian organization may book A-4 providing they have a sponsor. Please contact the Mess Office for contact information.
